Oh, Christmas tree...

Hi! I've got two more Christmas designs today...
(Can you believe there are only four days until Christmas?! Time flies so fast!)

For this design, I used Nail Fantasies Twist & Shout as a base. For the trees, I used Love and Beauty Dark Green. The ornaments' colors are as follows:
  • Yellow: N.Y.C. Taxi Yellow Creme
  • Purple: Love & Beauty Purple
  • Orange: L.A. Colors Color Craze Perfect Sunset
This one took FOREVER, because I had to apply about a thousand coats of bronze glitter to get full coverage!
I used Love & Beauty Bronze to create a sparkling base, then dotted on N.Y.C. Big Apple Red for the berries, and drew holly leaves with Love & Beauty Dark Green.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas designs

Many people think Christmas the greatest time of the year. Personally, I think summer is the best, but Christmas is still
AMAZING.
Plus there are all sorts of cute nail designs to do for Christmas. :)
Before I checked the blog and saw that Maria had already done snowflakes, I did them with Claire's Cosmetics and a Sally Hansen Fine Tip French Manicure Pen. To add a snowy sparkle, I topped it off with two coats of N.Y.C. White Lights Glitter. I love this polish because the glitter doesn't have a specific color-- you can use it on any nail design to add sparkle!

I did the snowflakes awhile ago, before my thumbnail broke...I noticed that there was a pretty big tear in my thumbnail, and I have no idea how it got there. But it was annoying, having to be super careful with my thumb in order to not get it caught in my hair, bedsheets, clothes, etc. So I decided to just clip the entire thing off. Unfortunately the tear was so close to my skin that I couldn't even file it, so it looks a little ragged in the photo.
Anyways, these candy cane nails are done with two coats of ORLY Softest White, then N.Y.C. Big Apple Red for the pretty candy stripes.

I've got one more Christmas design that's on my fingertips right now-- I just need to get a photo uploaded and write a blurb and blah blah blah, I'll likely post it this weekend when I have a bit more time!

Meanwhile I hope you're having a very merry Christmas season so far. <3

Hi!
My iPhoto is a bit weird at the moment, so if the photo isn't showing up, I'm sorry. :(
Anyways, for these moody nails, I used a base of Claire's Cosmetics, then drew faces using an Art Deco Black. The tongue on the thumb is N.Y.C. Big Apple Red.

Let It Snow

Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Oh it's the moooost.. wonderful tiiiimmmme... of the year! With all the spirit out on the streets as people put up lights and decorations and even wear their Santa hats, I couldn't help but join in the fun. I actually googled some designs (so yes, these were created by someone else: http://www.fabulousafter40.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/snowflake-nails.jpg & http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/DYUekyOXcWY/default.jpg), and I found snowflakes and christmas lights, so I used both those designs on my nails:

Here are the colors I used:
  • Finger Paints "Art Dealer Teal-er" for the blue base
  • Its So Easy Stripe Rite (WHITE) for the snowflakes
  • Essie "Blanc" for the white tip on the ring finger nail
  • Sharpie for the christmas lights design

Arches/Bridges/Crowns

Tres chic!

I used:

  • China Glaze "Tree Hugger" for the base
  • Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen (BLUE) for the design
  • Its So Easy Stripe Rite (WHITE) for the lines at the base of the nail
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Disco Ball for the top coat of glitter

Hi! Sorry I haven't been posting, but my dad has been installing some new software on our computer and now the internet is a little wonky... Plus I can't access my photos, so I can't show you my new designs! I'm using my sister's iPad for this post, though. ( Yes, iPads are as super cool as they say!)
I'll have a couple of new designs for the blog once my dad gets the computer straightened out, but for now I just wanted to tell you about a nail polish giveaway that I discovered recently: just go to www.facebook.com/zoyanailpolish and click "like." After 20,000 likes, Zoya will release a code for three free bottles of polish.

Nail Design: Abstract?

Posted by Jenny
I wasn't entirely sure what to call this nail design... for once I wasn't painting little pictures to try and resemble real-life objects, but just creating a random design. This is my first time using a nail art brush, which I bought the other day at a Sally Beauty Supply store. I bought the smallest size I could find so that I'll be able to do lots of little details.
However, I only ended up using it for the yellow dots. (N.Y.C. Taxi Yellow Creme) The black is a stripe of L.A. Colors Art Deco Black, and the white is done with a Sally Hansen Fine Tip Manicure Pen. The base is a pretty green shade, Love & Beauty Teal. (The only place to buy Love & Beauty products is at Forever 21, by the way... you won't find this brand in drugstores or beauty supply stores!)
When I showed my sister my nails, she said they reminded her of a wrapped-up Christmas gift, which I think is kind of a longshot. But when I showed them to my mum, she said the exact same thing! Do you agree?
